I am amused at how many propaganda pieces are publishedin the Chieftain. I say amused because I do not believe it is a conspiracy, but instead a confederacy of dunces that allow the sillyness to continue. Let me provide you some examples, then I will provide some insight on their sillyness.
Nuclear Power is good. The Chieftain published a recent article by The Heritage Foundation's Jack Spencer to promote the splendid developments in Nuclear Power. Spencer spent 50% of his article slamming a musician for speaking his mind (an easy way to stir emotion) and 50% of his article hiding from how disgusting and dirty nuclear power really is today. Read his article carefully and you will find the dirty little facts hidden in his very article. (For example, we transport toxic waste from Nuclear Power on our highways every day, and as Spencer points out, nobody pays attention to that, so why worry about it)
The Heritage Foundation is not the beaming bright think tank you might imagine. No, they are a well funded group of capitalists who believe government should NEVER EVER tell them how they can make money. They further believe that when the government uses tax money on things like preserving our natural beauty, protecting our environment, researching alternative fuels, operating public schools... well that is simply a form of socialism. The only thing The Heritage Foundation believes government is good for is killing bad people around the world, or at least being capable of killing more bad people than any other country. Other than that, leave the corporations alone to decide on their own what the people of the United States need and don't need.
Ah, then we have the desperate ANTI-global warming folks. They really don't care if the planet is warming, they believe man is not capable of doing any serious harm to the planet. They write articles all day long about how dumb scientists are, and how scientists when gathered together are simply special interest groups with political agendas. What is the purported political agenda you ask? It is simply to make a world of socialism. Oh my gosh, back to that again? Yes, these scientists are not content to let corporations run roughshod across the planet, they want to control capitalists and tell private enterprise how to run their business.
So lets turn on the light. Watch the facts illuminate all who read these words.
First of all, we are running out of oil. Sorry but everybody agrees. It might be in 50 years or 500 years, it really does not matter. When the oil is gone, its gone. So why not use it up? The answer is that we don't need to use it up. We could easily create an economy based on getting out of the oil business instead of taking Trillions of American dollars each year and hand it over to angry countries who have vendettas against us for the liberty and justice we promote around the world. You see, all the good we try to do for countries just pisses off other countries. And now we get to hand them $100 a barrel for their oil, next year it will be $200 a barrel. But listen to The Heritage Foundation newspeaksman and you will understand that we simply need to keep government out of it, private corporations are going to solve it when there is money to be made. Their solution is to let oil get so valuable that you will be happy to pay similar price points for corn oil, soybean oil, nuclear power, and anything else they can invest in just ahead of the demand.
Wake up folks, the political system of letting corporations make decisions for you is a system of stalling, ignoring, scheming, and dreaming of bigger profits and better control of our economy.
The answer is to create an ethic of sustainability that rules over any venture . Put your tax dollars to work moving us off oil, not funding the war industry and oil industry with money to spill your blood, and the blood of every nation that hates us.
