August 1st 2005 is getting closer day by day. Are you going to be there to do your part? You can be, It only takes 15 minutes of your time to go out and pick up a bag of trash from your area.

For those that are interested we are Attempting to organize a get together at the nature center for the First Annual Pick up America Day where we would be getting together through out the day. With in a couple weeks we will be announcing the state governors that will be participating on August 1st.

Disgusts me the way people still throw their trash around. My kids and I try and pick up other's messes when we find them at Mineral Palace. We also, sort our trash and drop it off at the bins which isn't that difficult. It cut's our "garbage disposal" down 3/4. Now, if you compost in a little corner of your yard as well, you can make "gold" for your plants and conserve on your water bill.

Huh, save landfill space, conserve our water, and save money, what a concept. Maybe the city wouldn't have to impose mandatory recycling if folks would take the initiative.

Yeah, we may join you in Picking Up everyone's trash, yeah, someone has to be their Mother, but I don't have to like it, I just do it. I hope you will also be sorting and recycling the mess.

Pick up America has adopted city park to keep clean, once a week on monday mornings Pick up America staff along with volunteers and community service workers will do their part to keeping the park clean. If you have a park that you would like to help clean up please contact me and I will do all that i can to help get you volunteers.

August 1st is closing in fast and there is alot of litter to be picked up, do your part join us on August 1st at the Pueblo Nature Center and help us celebrate Colorado's 129th Birthday. We will be at the nature center from 8 am to 3 pm on August 1st.

I see people recycle a lot more than they used to. Pretty cool. But we still have slobs that live among us, who require SOMEONE to pick up after them. I see inmates doing that sometimes....they do a pretty good job...keep up the good work boys! ;)
