I haven't lived in Pueblo since 1993, I left when the crime was very high. I down every so often to see many of my family and friends that still and always live there.
I was reading about a girl who killed her boyfriend, she was let go and then arrested two more times! Pueblo so many years ago use to be such a nice place to raise your children, what do you feel happened? Is it the lack of activities for the young and all, to many bars to cater to people, lack of work? What is it? How can it be changed? Will it ever?
I know I left along time ago but for some reason I still love that town, it will always be a part of me. I just want to be able to let my daughter visit her grandparents with out me feeling scared.
But then again I only go down 2-4 times a year.

And you feel safer in Edgewater? For a fly speck of the Metro I am willing to bet that Edgewater is at near the top of the list in shootings and drug arrests per captial rating. Edgewater Market Place between 17th and 20th on Sherdian has had 4 shootings in 7 years that I know of and the Taco Bell, TCIF Bank and the RAC Rent store all have been robbed in the last 4 years. Besides Blood and Crip members Edgewater also has the Asian gangs.

If you live in Edgewater you shouldn't really worry about your visits to Pueblo.

You must be confused with a movie or something, I'm not sure, but if Edgewater is as bad as your (trying) to making it out to be then we are doing pretty good for only four shootings in the past seven years. My goodness!! I feel scared! lol. Your discussion of gangs (crips, bloods and Asian) in Edgewater, that's funny... I believe your map quest is lost.
To tell you the truth I don't even know of many, or if any Asians live in Edgewater, not that I would have a problem with them. Another thing Sweetie if you look it up, Pueblo for its size has the largest crime rate in the U.S. or at least use to! If you paid attention you would see I am not insulting Pueblo.

I notice your from Littleton;
Isn't that where a mass murder/suicide took place? I do believe movies were made concerning that!
Think about what your saying before it gets swung back at you =-)

That is 4 shootings in that one parking lot at the Edgewater Market Place. There was also one shooting just west of there on 20th Ave and that one husband that shot and murdered his wife just north of 20th Ave within a year ago. That is a lot of shootings for a town of about 6000 compared to Wray, LaVeta or say Fowler. I'm still willing to bet that Edgewater per capital is at the top of the list as far as crime rate go's and could be the top one for shootings.

Blood, Crips and Asian gangs will be found upon any night at the TableSteaks pool hall especially when it was open 24 hrs until about a year and a half ago. Two Bloods use to be bouncers there which caused all hell to break loose two July 3rd's ago that had Edgewater, Mountview, Lakewood, Wheatridge and Denver cruisers respond. The gang members may not live in Edgewater but it is still a hot spot for them to deal drugs.

If you don't believe me go down to the Cop Shop at 24th or 25th and Sheridan and get there police blotter.

I lived in Pueblo until I was 28 and I never seen the crime that I have witnessed at the Edgewater Market Place. It's the main reason I only go in the day to the TableSteaks pool hall now. For one thing, Edgewater is only 5 blocks north of Colfax and the bums camp out at Sloans Lake.

As far as Downtown Littleton go's and where I live there has been 2 fatal stabbings and 2 fatal shootings since it's existence and the population is over the 6000 that Edgewater has.

I watch softball every summer at the ball park right by the Edgewater elementary school and for over a year there was a massage parlor in that strip mall where Safeway use to be, just a stones throw away from the school. Now what is up with Edgewater giving a licence to a massage parlor a 1/4 block from the school grounds? There is also a liquor store a 1/2 block away? Kids that live south of the school walked right by the massage parlor when it was there and it still took vice to shut them down for prostitution even though I believe it is against the law to issue a licence to a massage parlor that close to a school. That even had a baseball buddy of mine shaking his head that also happens to be a police Sargent for Edgewater. I don't know what the average for cops is for towns of 6000 but Edgewater has about 25 if that tells you anything as far as crime go's in Edgewater.

Statistically, Pueblo is just a little under the average for crime, for a city of 105,000. Which, amazingly enough, is with a population made up of a "Majority" Minority (55% Latino or Hispanic) and a large share of that minority is poor and uneducated . . which, generally, creates crime . .

Currently, the city is having problems with gangs (again) but compared to other urban areas in Colorado, that isn't even too bad . . Although most of that problem has been exacerbated by lack of prosecution by the Police Force, who had a "Gangs Division" until the gangs all but disappeared, and then it was disbanded, because the thought was, apparently, that this would never occur again . . Lots of smarts on that one!

As for the lady(?) that is mentioned, one, she's a victim of alcohol, Domestic Violence, both as recipient and donor, and the courts . . This is an occurrence that happens in almost every city, almost every day, and is only mentioned in the news media of the smaller cities . . In the Colorado Springs Gazette you would probably read about it in the "Crime Beat" section or column . . because it isn't of the same impact that the third or fourth Homicide of the month might be . .

And I would never compare one city with another, because none are the same . . One could say that one has more crime of one kind or another than the next city, and statistics can always be juggled to make a particular statement, but, as in a lot of other things, perception is more the case than facts . . People who live in D.C. will tell you N.Y.C. isn't safe to go to . .
