The Prez has sent his longtime friend and confidante Karen Hughes to the Middle East to sort of PR the tensions and make the USA a less threatening figure to the citizens there. Religion, of course, crops up from time to time. There's this:

"Many people around the world do not understand the important role that faith plays in Americans' lives," she said. When an Egyptian opposition leader inquired why Mr Bush mentions God in his speeches, Hughes asked him whether he was aware that "previous American presidents have also cited God, and that our constitution cites 'one nation under God'."
Umm...shouldn't the representative of the United States on official business to one of the world's most unsettled locations be a little more familiar with the actual language of the Constitution? 'one nation under God' is not in the Constitution - it's the Pledge of Allegiance.
