i for one mourn the passing of this pueblo "legend". some of my fond memories will be:
-their wonderful mashed 'taters
-the coldest shots of jagermeister in town
-my first taste of rocky mountain oysters
-their philly cheesesteaks
-closing out the bar on two of my birthdays
looks like tomorrow (sunday) will be a farewell for the pub. anyone else up for toasting one final jar o' brew?

Yeah, the passing of another "Institution". Ted Calintino has to be saluted for hosting a great number of us over the years, providing at least three generations with a "Proper Waterin' Hole" on Friday Nights, contemporary diversion (at least for the majority of attendees) and, always a very friendly greeting for any and all of us . . .
Although other diversions and the old age inclination to moderation has kept me from "Friday Nights at the Pub", I'll wager once it's gone, I'll miss it too . . if for no other reason . . it ain't there anymore! Kinda like a dead friend or relative, y'know . . . .
And no matter that the new owner would try to keep a tradition, maybe . . it won't be the "Pub" without Ted . . .

As a former Pueblo resident, and long-time customer of Ted Calantino's Irish Pub & Grill, it hurts to hear that I no longer am able to stop in and see my old friend Ted. It was always a delight to share stories of the past and catch up on the latest news on my visits to Pueblo. Ted was a true friend and loved by many. Ted always welcomed our rowdy football crew from SCSC, who spent the Saturday nights after the games running between John Taibi's Rainbow Tavern and the Irish Pub. I swear we wore a path into the pavement from the alley backdoor entrance of the Rainbow to the front door of the Irish Pub. Ted introduced me to Lime Lager and for that I am always greatful, it is truly a wonderful blend of fresh squeezed lime and Bass Ale. We never had any problems at the Irish Pub and never got too much out of hand. If the walls of the Irish Pub (and Rianbow) could talk and the alley run between the Pub and the Rainbow were video taped we all might have been in trouble at one point or another. On behalf of some of us - Dennis, Tim(s), Andy, Paul, Henry, Gino, John(s), Dave, the Fue and myself along with many many other former SCSC athletes, we thank you Ted for all you did for all of us!
