OK, there's gotta be a little spirit about this one up here. I'll do my take on it and you guys can get in any time!

I don't think any of the present "Scapegoats" are totally responsible. Maybe the Regents and that has to go back quite a few years. These Policies didn't JUST happen! And the Athletic Cashboxes didn't JUST appear!

This is OLD news in a new wrapper. I believe that we need to get out a lot of rope if we're going to hang anybody! There's a bunch of blame to spread, and I'd betcha there's a whole crowd with their heads in the sand.

We're talking "Tradition" here, and the policy wonks at CU have let these things happen with full knowlege, there's no way anything that screwed up can go un-noticed for that long. Nahhhh, there's a whole bunch of Foxes in the Henhouse!

Remember Eddie Crowder was fired for keeping a slush fund in the athletic department, and this was before the humongous NCAA oversight. College athletics is extremely big business and the fight to remain competitive is myopic. The better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission idiom applies here. As far as everything else, such as the alcohol fueled sex parties et. al...that part of college life is almost everwhere except maybe MIT. Of course I went to school in a much earlier day when girls lived in girls dorms and boys lived in boys dorms and in PDA's (public displays of affection) in front of the girls dorms could get you in major trouble. so most of it went on in cars or upperclass student's apartments. Nothing much has changed exept now you don't have to ask the druggist for condoms.

Hmmmm, about the sex thing, actually a lot has changed . . As Willy proved, College Students don't consider oral sex, sex! How 'bout that sports fans . . Damn! Born too late!

'Course, I think some of the traditions ought to at least have "orientations" . . Nobody I know of ever drank themselves to death . . A few struck stationary objects with their vehicles after consuming great amounts . . but direct OD's of Alky . . never!

'Spose that's what they mean when they say "The Dumbing Down of College Students"?
