I hope nobody minds, but I thought I'd go ahead and start a thread about this subject instead of having it join the other discussion on immigration since this is more targeted to this one group/action. Also, I plan on doing some daily/weekly updates as events unfold, so if this topic interests you, you can just check this thread for links to stories and updates.
With that said...what does everyone think about it? If you have no idea what it is, check this link:

Personally, I'm all for it. It's time that someone did something about this problem instead of just writing their Congressperson. Last year, an estimated 500,000 illegal aliens were caught near this stretch of land and countless thousand others weren't caught and successfully entered this country illegally.
I have no problem with any person, of any color, from any country immigrating to this country legally. America is home to freedom, opportunity and is free from opression. Anyone that is legally able to come to America should be able to if they so desire.
What I am 100% against is any person, of any color, from any country entering this country illegally. Fill out the proper paperwork, wait until it's complete and then make your move.
Every year since 1990, our country has seen anywhere from 500K to 1M illegal immigrants enter our country. That comes out to a toal of 1350-2700 illegal immigrants per day. At that rate, by the year 2025 over 40 million illegal immigrants will be living in the United States. That's equal to the population of the states of California, Nevada, Utah and Colorado. Take out a map and highlight those four states. Now find a place in the United States to stick those four states and their population, plus our normal growth in population. It can't be done!
Hopefully, there will be no violence at this event and their goal is successful....raise awareness about illegal immigration. I just find it funny that people like the ACLU and Jesse Jackson feel they need to be at something that is legal and nothing more than a non-violent protest when they are the ones always encouraging protests.
