Default You know it's a slow day for the media when...

...they publish an op-ed informing the public that the grass is still green...

(Not that the Colorado Springs Gadzette should ever be taken seriously in the first place, but for crying out loud...this takes the cake, doesn't it?)

Y'kno . . I read that opinion (that's what it is, because it's not just lacking facts, it's not true, PERIOD!)

The City of Colorado Springs has whined about not having money for it's Park maintenance for over a year . .

On both KOAATV and KKTV news . . They've belaboured the dying gr**** because they "Can't afford Water", the inability to replace vandalized playground equipment and even foregone the collection of trash from the trash containers . . at one point, picking them all up, before acquiescing to the citizens demands to put them back and the citizens will take care of the collections . .

As for "Crime Control" . . Dunno if the Police can do much, but they're averaging a Homicide a day, and sometimes, catching the shooter . . but the killings certainly don't make Colorado Springs look like anything less than "Dodge City" . .

I would add . . There appears to be lots of Policemen in the Springs, because all you need to do to find one is to speed a little over 4 miles per hour anyplace in town . . they'll write you in a heartbeat and send you to their ticket mill downtown . . Where you'll be told that if you plead guilty to "Defective Equipment" and pay a $108 dollar fine, you won't be charged any points . .

But, the guy who wrote the editorial obviously works and writes full time for the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce and Tourist Bureau . . The only people who might believe him would be someone who just got off a plane at the airport . .
